Meet the instructor:

My name is Alyssa Jones. I took my first ASL class in college and fell in love with the language and culture. I then went on to Gallaudet University (an all deaf university) to complete my BA in psychology. I loved my experience being a hearing student at a deaf school despite being an online student due to the pandemic. I was able to work on some fun collaborations there,  such as video books for elementary school students that are written in English and signed in ASL to help bridge the gap for deaf children in language comprehension. After completing my BA at Gallaudet, I went on to get my M.Ed in counseling education and Ed.S in school counseling. I had amazing experiences at my internships and classes. Soon after graduating, my husband and I started our family and I have been blessed since then to be a stay at home mom. I am excited to have the opportunity to continue my journey working with children and sharing my passions of ASL and social emotional learning.
